The App operates entirely on your device. All data processing, storage, and analysis occurs locally. Mortui does not operate cloud servers or access your data remotely.

Mortui is a technology tool, not a legal service. The App does not provide legal advice, estate planning services, or legal document preparation.

Before configuring any actions in Mortui, you should:

  • Consult with a qualified attorney regarding your estate planning needs
  • Ensure your configured actions comply with applicable laws in your jurisdiction
  • Understand the legal implications of automated file deletion and message delivery
  • Consider whether a formal will or estate plan is appropriate for your situation

Mortui is not a substitute for legal advice from a qualified professional.

4. User Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for:

  • Configuring the App correctly and testing your configuration thoroughly
  • Ensuring your actions comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Maintaining the security of your device, PIN, and authentication credentials
  • Providing accurate recipient information for message delivery
  • Regularly reviewing and updating your configuration as circumstances change
  • Informing emergency contacts about the App and providing recovery information

5. Limitations and Risks

You acknowledge and accept the following limitations:

  • False positives: The App may incorrectly detect anomalies and trigger actions prematurely
  • False negatives: The App may fail to detect actual emergencies, delaying action execution
  • Device dependency: The App only functions on the device where it is installed
  • Network requirements: Message delivery features require internet connectivity
  • Battery/power: The App requires your device to have power to function
  • Technical failures: Software bugs, OS updates, or device issues may prevent proper operation

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the App will function uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MORTUI BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses

  • Failure to deliver messages or files to intended recipients
  • Accidental deletion of files or data
  • Any damages resulting from false positive or false negative detections
